The quarantine imposed in Ukraine in connection with the coronavirus epidemic will be extended until May 22, but from May 11 certain mitigations will be in effect.

This was stated by Prime Minister Denys Shmygal during a government meeting.

“The quarantine will be extended until May 22. Next, we will see how the pandemic will move in the world, how the incidence curve will fluctuate in Ukraine,” he said.

However, from May 11, the first easing of restrictions will begin in the country, in particular, parks, squares, recreation areas, beauty salons, hairdressers, summer areas of individual cafes and restaurants, as well as takeaway catering establishments will open.

Wholesale and retail trade in non-food products will also be allowed, except for entertainment areas, food courts, cinemas and children’s areas in shopping and entertainment centers.

In addition, they will allow the work of museums, libraries, which will work according to certain criteria. Dentists, auditors, lawyers, notaries and household appliance services will work.
