Registration of ownership is a mandatory procedure for individuals and legal entities, the purpose of which is to enter information about the owner of real estate and his rights to it into the Register of Rights to Real Estate.
On January 1, 2016, a new version of the law “On State Registration of Rights to Real Estate” came into force in Ukraine. The main innovation is that during registration, a certificate of ownership is no longer issued, but the object is entered into the state register, with the issuance of an information certificate about the property.
In addition, it is now possible to register property not only with the state registrar, but also with a private notary, and since May 2016 this can also be done in local governments, including village councils.
For the full disposal of real estate, it is necessary to go through a certain registration process.
